Designed By: Catherine Scanlon
Skill Level (1-5): 3
Time to Complete: 1 hour (allowing for drying time)

Step 1: Remove Clip from board, use a soft cloth to apply Gold Wax Paste to transform the clip from silver to gold. Apply several layers for an even application.

Step 2: Paint the wood portion of the clipboard with the Turquoise Ultra Chalk Paint. Let dry.

Step 3: Apply Chevron stencil to clipboard and apply Teal Metallic Acrylic Paint. Let dry.

Step 4:  Sand the edges and top of the board to distress and reveal some of the wood. Wipe with a clean cloth.

Step 5: Cover the bottom quarter of the clipboard with a piece of vintage text, a glue stick is perfect for this application. Sand the edges.

Step 6: Stamp the text background on the watercolor paper to cover the entire sheet. Add water to the Teal Metallic Acrylic Paint and paint a portion of the paper, let the water drip down if desired. Add Teal and Magenta splatters if desired.

Step 7: Apply a strip of double stick tape to a piece of scrap paper and stick the letters down, this will keep them in place and your fingers clean as you paint each letter. Paint the letters with Gold Luxe Paint. Let dry, splatter with Teal and Magenta Metallic Acrylic Paint.

Step 8: Stencil the Butterfly from the Butterflies + Birds Stamp and Stencil set on the Green Tea Stained Tag using Gold Acrylic Paint. Let dry. When dry fussy cut around the edges of the butterfly. Paint the wings with Magenta Metallic Acrylic Paint.

Step 9: Paint the Silver Puffy Flourishes with Black Ultra Chalk paint while still on the clear plastic sheet, set aside to dry.

Step 10: Stamp the sentiment on clear acetate using Black Archival Stamping Ink. Trim to fit on the 4×6 stamped and painted watercolor sheet.

Step 11: Cut a piece of burlap approximately 3×5 and unravel the edges for a raw and uneven edge. Attach to the clipboard as shown in the example.

Step 12: Staple the sentiment sheet to the top of the watercolor paper. Add to the clipboard by tucking the edge under the metal clip.

Step 13: Tie a piece of Magenta string around the clipboard, refer to the example for placement.

Step 14: Use the hot glue gun to attach the letters to the clipboard.

Step 15: Add the flourishes and butterfly, securing with hot glue to keep them in place.
